6th Observation

Date: November 27, 2022 Time: 3:06pm-3:39pm Climate Conditions: Little to no wind, cloudy Temperature: 45°F Length of day: 7:50am-5:12pm Changes: The snow has now fully gone away since the temperatures have risen from last visit. More leaves have dropped and now there are more bare trees. The creek has also risen causing the organic material around my second plant to be more wet.  Pictures: Location 1st plant was once again gone so I took the sample from the area where I last saw it 2nd plant  3rd plant Organic Material Samples Following getting all my samples I put them in the oven at 175°F for 10 minutes to dry them out before I put them in the Kiln this week

5th Observation

Date: November 14, 2022 Time: 3:51pm-4:17pm Climate Conditions: cold, small amount of wind, snowing Temperature: 36° Length of Day: 7:34am-5:21pm Changes: The temperature has drastically dropped all the way to snowing so the plants were effected by that. There were now even more leaves on the ground and they were getting a little soggy from the snow.  Pictures Location: Plant 1:  Plant 2:  Plant 3: Soil Samples:  Sketches Plant/Location I chose to sketch:  Sketch:

4th Observations

Date: October 31, 2022 Time: 2:52-3:20pm  Climate Conditions: Small amount of wind, cloudy, a little bit of a drizzle  Temperature: 61°F Length of day: 8:17am-6:37pm  Changes: There were a TON more leaves on the ground compared to the last time I was there and I heard a lot more animal noises during this visit Here are 2 pictures of the location:   Here are the pictures of the plants:  I still could not locate where the plant went so I decided to just keep taking the organic material from the same location  Organic Material Samples:  Video of the sounds:

3rd Observation

Date: October 15, 2022 Time: 2:09 pm - 2:41 pm  Climate conditions: Sunny with 17mph winds Temperature: 49°F Length of day: 7:57am-7:01pm Changes I saw: I noticed the change of the colors of the trees drastically since the last time I visited and the temperature has definitely dropped.  Questions: Does the change of the temperature and seasons effect the organic material at all? I also could not locate the exact 1st plant I was measuring the organic material of so I chose the same type of plant but not the exact one. So I wonder, what happened to the other plant that I was measuring?  Awe & Stewardship reflection: I think that it is incredible how just over the course of a few weeks that the leaves have all of a sudden changed. God has given Michigan such beautiful seasons that we get to experience and see with our own eyes. We take for granted sometimes the Earth we live on but I think it is truly wonderful the seasons He has provided. And I definitely notice it...

2nd Observation

Today's information: Time: 6:04pm Date: September 28, 2022  Climate conditions: Very cloudy, small amount of wind  Temperature: 53°F Length of day: 7:38am-7:31pm Changes: The temperature was a lot colder and since it rained yesterday the ground was still wet/damp so the plants recently got a decent amount of water.  Pictures: 1st plant  2nd Plant 3rd plant Location  Soil samples
